Forsyth Park is one of the most popular Savannah engagement photo locations, and it’s easy to see why. From the iconic white fountain to the moss-draped oak trees and the beautiful fragrance garden, every part of the park offers something timeless and romantic.


Our couples especially love incorporating the fountain into their session, along with the classic tree-lined pathways that give photos that unmistakable Savannah charm. The nearby streets and historic homes are also a huge hit, adding variety and a touch of Southern architecture to the session.


One of my favorite things about Forsyth Park is how much variety you can get in one location. Within a short walk, we can capture both greenery and architectural backdrops, giving your gallery a mix of looks without needing to travel to multiple spots.

Classic Savannah Charm


2. Jones Street


Jones Street is often considered one of the most beautiful streets in Savannah — and has even been described by travel publications as one of the most beautiful streets in America. With its cobblestone streets, historic homes, and charming staircases, it creates a timeless and romantic setting for engagement photos.


This location is perfect for couples who love classic architecture and a more intimate, quiet feel. The street is lined with stunning 19th-century homes, iron railings, and shaded by live oak trees, giving it that unmistakable Savannah charm.

I especially love Jones Street because it feels a little more tucked away and peaceful compared to busier areas of the city. It’s perfect for capturing natural, candid moments while still having a polished, editorial feel.

Oak Avenue & Spanish Moss


3. wormsloe historic site


Wormsloe Historic Site is another one of the most iconic Savannah engagement photo locations, known for its breathtaking avenue of live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. The long, symmetrical tree-lined drive creates a dramatic and romantic backdrop that feels truly unique to Savannah.


This location is perfect for couples who want that classic Southern look with a slightly more editorial feel. The perspective of the oak avenue, combined with the soft light filtering through the trees, makes for some of the most striking images in the area.

Because of the park’s updated trolley system, I typically recommend booking a two-hour session here. This allows enough time to travel through the property and capture a variety of backdrops beyond just the entrance, giving you a full gallery that reflects everything Wormsloe has to offer.


Because Wormsloe is a protected historic site, there is an admission fee for entry as well as a photography permit required for sessions. I always guide my couples through this process so everything is taken care of ahead of time and your session feels seamless.

Savannah is home to 22 historic squares, each offering something a little different — from fountains and monuments to moss-covered oak trees and open green space. This variety makes the squares some of the most versatile Savannah engagement photo locations in the city.


One of the things I love most about the squares is how much diversity you can get within a short walking distance. Many are surrounded by beautiful historic architecture, iron railings, and classic Savannah homes, giving your photos a mix of natural and architectural backdrops.


Some of my favorite squares for engagement sessions include Madison Square, Monterey Square, and Chippewa Square. Each of these offers its own unique charm, whether it’s dramatic oak trees, open light, or iconic Savannah scenery.

5. tybee Island


If you’re dreaming of coastal engagement photos, Tybee Island is the perfect beach option just outside of Savannah. It offers a completely different feel from the historic downtown locations, with soft sand, open shoreline, and a relaxed, romantic atmosphere.


Tybee is ideal for couples who want movement in their photos — flowing dresses, ocean breeze, and that effortless, natural feel. The wide beaches allow for a variety of shots, from candid walking moments along the shoreline to more intimate portraits with the water in the background.

6. river street & Factor walk


River Street is one of Savannah’s most iconic areas, known for its cobblestone streets, riverfront views, and historic brick buildings. It’s a beautiful option for couples who love the idea of incorporating water into their engagement photos, especially with the Savannah River and passing ships creating a dynamic backdrop.


Just above River Street, Factors Walk adds another layer of character with its exposed brick corridors, iron details, and historic architeture. The pedestrian bridges here are one of my favorite features — they create such a unique perspective and add depth and interest to photos.


Together, these areas offer a mix of waterfront scenery and architectural texture, making them a great choice for couples who want something a little different from Savannah’s parks and gardens.

Choosing what to wear for your engagement session plays a big role in how your photos look and feel. In Savannah, I almost always recommend outfits that complement the soft, romantic tones of the city.


Neutral and muted colors like cream, soft blue, sage, tan, and pastels photograph beautifully against both the greenery and historic architecture. These tones help keep the focus on you while still blending naturally with the surroundings.
