Alexandra and James’s Savannah Country Club wedding was a celebration overflowing with joy, romance, and laughter from start to finish. As their wedding photographer, I was thrilled to capture every heartfelt moment at this beautifully renovated Savannah venue — a space that perfectly balances Southern charm with modern elegance.
Alex began her morning in the Savannah Country Club’s brand-new bridal suite, joined by her bridesmaids and the talented team from 40 Volume Salon. The space was a dream — soft, airy paint tones, gorgeous natural light, and eye-catching tile work that made every detail photograph beautifully. From the delicate lace on her gown to the sweet mother-daughter moment when her mom helped her into it, the morning was filled with emotion and anticipation.
Meanwhile, James got ready in the groom’s suite — an ultimate man cave equipped with a bar, TV, and all the space the guys needed to relax before the big moment. The energy was lighthearted and fun, setting the tone for the day.
The couple chose to share a private first look and exchange personal vows on the veranda overlooking the pond and golf course. The white stucco and elegant architecture created soft, flattering light — perfect for capturing such a meaningful moment.
Afterward, the wedding party hopped on golf carts to explore the sprawling property for portraits. One of the best things about a Savannah Country Club wedding is the variety of backdrops — from manicured lawns to charming oak-lined paths. We stopped at the front of the property for bridesmaids, groomsmen, and full wedding party photos, each set filled with laughter and personality.
savannah country club wedding ceremony in courtyard
The ceremony took place in the courtyard, facing the golf course. Lush green ferns lined the aisle, creating a timeless, classic look. Alex made her entrance down the grand staircase arm in arm with her father, a moment both dramatic and deeply touching. James couldn’t stop smiling, the bridesmaids wiped away tears, and it felt like a real-life fairytale — fitting for these high school sweethearts.
While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, Alex and James hopped into a golf cart to explore more of the grounds for couple portraits. I followed them in my own golf cart, how fun?! We found live oak trees with the golden sun streaming through, and the results were magical. These two are naturals in front of the camera — they laughed, ran, kissed, and even zipped around in the cart like they were in their own romantic movie.
As a photographer, it's an absolute dream to have this many gorgeous locations on one property!
savannah country club wedding reception in ballroom
Their reception took place in the ballroom, and from the moment they made their entrance, I knew it was going to be unforgettable. They shared their first dance to “Your Love” by Tyler Childers — a choice that had the whole room smiling through happy tears. The parent dances were just as moving, and dinner by the Savannah Country Club was a hit with every guest.
Just before the party kicked into full swing, I stole the couple away for a quick 10-minute sunset session. Those portraits ended up being some of my favorites from the day. And then — the dance floor never emptied. Truly. Every single guest seemed to be dancing at one point, and the energy was electric.
The night ended with a fun confetti exit to a classic red Mustang convertible. Guests cheered, Alex and James kissed, and they drove off into their next chapter as husband and wife.
Alexandra and James’s Savannah Country Club wedding was everything you’d want a wedding day to be — joyful, elegant, and uniquely theirs. As a Savannah wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect couple or a more beautiful setting to tell their love story.
