We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sophia and John’s Isle of Hope engagement session in mid-May. They chose this location because it beautifully captures their Savannah roots while hinting at their upcoming Greece wedding next year. From the charming homes and mossy trees along the bluff to the serene waters of the Isle of Hope Marina, this session was full of breathtaking scenery and golden hour magic.

We started on the bluff, where the homes, trees, and coastal views provided a stunning backdrop. Sophia and John were so relaxed, and their connection really shone through in each frame. I love shooting here because the light in the late afternoon creates such a warm, dreamy glow that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the location.

Next, we moved to the Isle of Hope Marina, where we played with reflections on the water and incorporated unique boat backgrounds into their portraits. The setting added a fresh, coastal vibe to the session while keeping it personal to their story. It’s always fun to experiment with reflections and different angles at the marina, and Sophia and John were total naturals in front of the camera.

One of my favorite parts of this engagement session was the golden hour light. It wrapped Sophia and John in a soft, romantic glow, highlighting their laughter, love, and playful personalities. Sessions like this are why Isle of Hope is one of my favorite spots for engagement photography—it’s unique, personal, and photogenic at every turn.
